Let’s say that you’re learning a new product, call it FitNesse just for argument’s sake, and you want to figure out how to use the product for your own benefit and edification.  So you go to the product’s manual, or in this case its User Guide, and you try to figure out what’s going on.

Now let’s say that that product has two things in place within its user guide:
1. Pages are treated as self-documenting because they are written in the product itself, so all you have to do is check out the “code behind” for any given screen.
2. Pages have the ability to view the code behind each page turned off.

This. This is a problem.  Luckily, there are other copies of the User Guide to save us. But man, is that ever annoying.
