I’m working on a new life project based in biomedical engineering these days, so you’ll probably see me nerd out about stuff in that area a lot from now on. Today’s entry in that realm is this video.

There are a lot of things happening in brain-computer interfaces, but the really cool thing about David Eagleman’s talk there is that the technology he’s working with has been replicated many times, from upside-down VR to improving (certain) people’s direction sense, without needing surgery or other expensive interventions. We can radically transform people’s cognition and perception with pretty limited tools. It excites me to imagine where that can take us.
