For a limited time, the Canadian government has updated its high-depreciation classes, particularly 43.1 and 43.2, to include air-source heat pumps. If you installed one or more heat pump units last year for a rental unit you may be eligible for a significant tax break.

There are also some suggestions that for 2022 & 2023 only, you can deduct the entire amount for a heat pump installation.
