This is interesting, especially when paired with something like this. I’ve been lining up a (fictional) element in one of my projects for something like this, but I’d been assuming that the eventual (real-world) solution would be biologically-derived or at least a little less fancy. The notion of a road that shows its damage on its face and for which the repair is running a land train with a UV-emitting undercarriage over the surface periodically seems pretty stellar, particularly when combined with a power-generating, always-connected, modular roadway element.
I also love that they’re doing partial financing via Indiegogo. Crowdfunding is a huge improvement over more opaque methods of bootstrapping, and this project could be a success worth aiming for.
